I’m BACK (and better than ever)
…AND browner than ever. The heat in Vegas and Houston were on some Kentucky Fry-a-b*tch stuff. Whew. You know it’s too hot when you walk outside and the sun pimp slaps you and you just want to cuss. But they do say the Blacker the berry, the sweeter the juice. In that case, I’m on diabeetus mode!
Anywho, yours truly, Luvvie IG Baby (please don’t say the Baby. It’s silent) is back from vacation. Did y’all miss me? If I don’t hear a chorus of “of course we did”s, I will *wall slide*.
I don’t recall the last time I’ve ever taken 11 days off like I just did, unplugging (mostly) from the computer and just not leaving worries behind. I even left my laptop behind. Yes, I’m shocked too. I wasn’t on GChat, Twitter or Facebook. I didn’t even get the shakes or nothing! I’m so so proud of me.
However, this wasn’t a vacation to lay around and reflect on life. I partied hard. First at Nigerian Reunion in Vegas, where no one slept til 7am each night (and woke up around 10am. Come on, it’s Vegas. Who sleeps there?). Shoutouts to NRC & DejaVu Entertainment for putting on a dope reunion. And my boys, Jide & Abiola of Amebor.com. And, of course, my favorite Jerseyite, Isaac aka RealEyez Mystic (don’t tell him but I think he’s a dope rapper! Lawd, his head’s gon swell to the size of a Goodyear blimp).
Then in Houston with my family, where we partied till 6am each night. Not just us 20-somethings but the adults as well. Hence, my fatigue. I LOVE my fam! We had an all-white party where I danced so hard that my back looked like someone threw water on me. Praise Him for GREAT deodorant cause I still smelled delicious! Shoutout to Secret Deodorant for keeping my secret! Right Guard may have wanted to turn left after all that sweating and Degree may have flunked out. I’m just saying…
I’m physically exhausted but mentally refreshed. I could get a few more hours of sleep butthe burnout I was starting to feel a couple of weeks ago has subsided. I’m ready to take on the world! *pumps fists in air dramatically* *sings “Eye of the Tiger”*
*singing* Back to life, back to reality…
