MJ Tribute Gave Me LIFE

[ 6 ] July 8, 2009 |

Hey y’all. I said I wasn’t going to blog this week since I’m on vacation but I was moved to write after watching the Michael Jackson Memorial Tribute. You know I spoil y’all ;-) But since I AM on vacay, it won’t be in my usual long recap mode so here it goes.

*taps mic*

The Michael Jackson Memorial was my EVERYTHING! It gave me LIFE! It was 2.5 hrs of PURE AWESOME! When Paris Katherine spoke and broke down, I couldn’t take it no more. My thug was on the floor, I *wall slid* and got something in my eye (thugs don’t cry. We get eye allergies). It was dope!

Black folks know how to send someone home, and MJ was done RIGHT!

That is all!

*picks mic back up*

See y’all next week with my posts and recaps and stuff. Oh… and SECKHUAL CHOCOLATE!

*stomps on floor*

I agree! It was a great memorial/tribute. I LOVED it. There were quite a few tear jerker moments for me. I loved the photo montages, the anecdotes, Stevie Wonder's song, Brooke Shields' speech and of course, Paris. She was so sweet and strong. I thought that even Al Sharpton, the Kings & Sheila Jackon Lee did a great job. It was an awesome ceremony.

They did a great job, representing who he truly was.
    Very organized, just awesome.

Okay, enjoy your vacay, but please believe I am jonesin' for some awesomely posts.

And girl, I was crying thorughout the entire memorial. Each new slow song just produced more tears. I was a hot mess yesterday. What's weird is that I cried worse than I did when the news first broke out. I think because I was in a state of shock then. It all came to a head yesterday, though.

It was great. EBT could take lessons.

It was ok. But mostly I was just happy to see that Trey Lorenz was still alive.

Loved it. Thanks to Smokey for his point of view. And it was great to see the clip of the J5 performing "Who's Lovin' You"—one of my personal faves
