Soulja Boy is a Bigger Idiot Than I Thought
I’m back! I’ve missed you all! So let’s get back into regularly-scheduled ratchetness and tomfoolery.
I know Soulja Boy is a bit of a degenerate. Dude thought putting white out on his sunglasses was fashion forward. And he slept with Kat Stacks, who is a walking STD. And he raps like he wrote his lyrics while drugged up on Tylenol PM AND Ambien. He is dumb to me. But just when I thought he couldn’t be more of an idiot than he is, I found out about something he said 3 years ago in an article on The Guardian (shoutout to @aprettygirlblog for passing it along to me).

Wait… WHAT? Did Soulja Boy just pay homage to slave masters for giving him the opportunity to wear ice and get tatted up? I believe he did. Was he kidding? Tell me he was. LAWDDD my rant tourette’s is feeling hella strong RIGHT about now. There’s sooo many things wrong with this statement. WHERE DO I START, LAWD?!?

So you’re just going to sit up there and say 200 years of slavery was worth it because your classless wonder of a nonentity can now spend your money on overpriced chains with tacky ass pendants and get tasteless tattoos all over your body? TWO HUNNID YEARS OF BEING TREATED WORSE THAN ANIMALS! The institution that single-handedly changed the black family. The same evil that still has obvious effects 150 years after it ended. It was apparently all for the greater good for rappers to be flashy as hell in the 21st century. This can’t be life and this can’t be logic.

b. Sooooo if you were still in Africa, you won’t be able to wear ice? You’re a belligerent dummy because you don’t know that most of that “ice” you’re wearing comes from Africa. iii. Those tattoos you’re rocking did not begin in America. The Middle Passage was not the place where people decided that they should ink their bodies. Tribal tattoos exist in Africa, and have for centuries. Even so, body modification didn’t originate here. My Granny has one. So technically, you could have tats if you were still there.
Harriet Tubman ain’t wade in the water for Soulja Boy to come through and minimize everything she worked against in this way. SHE DID NOT. Frederick Douglass ain’t part his hair in that epic fashion for some young whipper snapper to give props to the very people who imprisoned us.
Slavery got black folks outta Africa, huh? So we couldn’t just take regular trips out the continent to get “out?” Slavery was what had to do it? Oh ok. And those very generous slave masters who were just saints enough to take us in. I’m too tah’d to go on.
Someone can’t be this stupid. Survival of the fittest hasn’t perfected weeding out the lessers because that is clearly what Soulja Boy is. And he is somehow richer than most folks in the U.S. THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS!!!
This is also why Elon James and the Blacking It Up crew suggested that we drop Soulja Boy in a remote country because we don’t need him. But that’ll be considered an act of war and we’re already involved in enough conflicts so… yeah.

However I’m not really surprised this is Soulja Boy we are not talking about he never struck me as a Rhodes scholar. I hate to generalize b/c I know there are wonderful educated and bright yougins’ who will grow up to be productive leaders and citizens, but this new generation frightens me, like scared for the future of this country.
