What I’ve Been Up To This Past Month

I wasn’t blogging in the past month, but y’all know I’m a busybody, so I also didn’t saddown. I’m tryna get my eLife and my real life all the way together. I LOVE blogging and won’t stop (can’t stop), but I also want to take what I do to a new level. Nah mean? I’ve been at this blogging game for 8 years. I’m a veteran. And AwesomelyLuvvie.com is my main eCrib. It’s like the wifey I got. Sometimes she makes me tah’d and nags me. I stray sometimes. I see other blogs that make me ooohh and aaahh. I look at other blogs’ booties but no matter what, I always come on home and cuddle. Wait. I’m a thug. We don’t cuddle. (-___-)

I don’t even know where I was going with that. My attention span is clearly still on dummy mode.

Anywho, I’m trying to expand my brand and do more things to establish myself as a force to be reckoned with. So I’m kinda part of the Team Blackness crew now. Once a week, or so, I’ve joined Elon James White, Bassey Ikpi, and Aaron Freeman for the Blacking It Up radio podcast. Last week, I was in New York the same day that Blacking It Up was having its first live broadcast, so I co-hosted with Elon and ‘em. It was UBER DOPE! I met great folks and had a bomb time. I e’em met Baratunde. *leyomi drops*

ALSO, y’all know I don’t know much bout history. Or biology. Or science books. But I know social media and web design. So I’ve been working with clients on that stuff for the past month. I’ve redesigned about 4 new websites/blogs in that time. AND… AND… I’m getting ready to start doing social media/blogging tip webinars. I’m having my FIRST one on May 10th. It’s a free WordPress 101 webinar. I announced it on Twitter yesterday and it was sold out within 30 minutes. So I’ll be having more. Of course, I’m still running my nonprofit organization The Red Pump Project. That’s my heart. In fact, I’m being honored with an award today by The BOSS Network for my work with Red Pump. I’m one of 12 Chicago “Influencers” they’re giving awards to, so allow me to bust out into a coupla cabbage patches. I’m, well, honored, to be honored.

What else have I been up to?

Oh yes… I’m running the Dumbest. Tweets. Ever. Tumblr blog now. Y’all remember the epic “25 Dumbest Tweets of 2010” post that Miss Zindzi and I did? Well, it spurred me to create that Tumblr to document the perpetual disrespect of Grammar, Syntax and Logic on Twitter. This Tumblr brings me joy while also making me lose hope that humanity is getting smarter.

So yes, that’s what my busy ass has been doing while I was gone. I’m STILL going to be doing all this stuff moving forward, and blogging here. I’m clearly a glutton for punishment. But I lowkey love it. And I hope y’all join me for all my randomness.

*puts it out in the Universe* I’m looking to do more social media trainings, speak on more panels and at more conferences, write more and just be more awesome. Soooo mmhmm. Do with that as you wish.
