Breaking Bad Season 5 Premiere Took NO Prisoners (No Spoilers)

One of the shows I just started watching in the past couple of months is AMC’s Breaking Bad because Afrobella told me it was awesome. So I went to Netflix, where they got seasons 1-4. I watched ALL the episodes in like 2 months, and I GOT MY LIFE. And the last episode of Season 4? CHILD I WANTED TO PASS CLEAN OUT!

Breaking Bad is EVERYTHING! That show is one of the best on TV right now. Every episode is like a roller coaster of emotions. They literally have me sitting at the edge of my seat chewing my nails as I wait for the next scene and next episode.

For those who haven’t ever seen it, let me give you a quick synopsis. By the way, none of these are spoilers, because what I’m telling you happens in the pilot episode.

Walter White is a high school chemistry teacher who works at a car wash to supplement his income. He doesn’t smoke, barely drinks and has a wife and son. He suddenly finds out he has stage 4 terminal lung cancer and realizes that if he dies, his family will be left broke. So when he takes a ride to a meth lab bust with his DEA brother-in-law, he gets the idea that if he did a little bit of meth peddling, he could make a lot of money in no time, so he partners with Jesse Pinkman, a super small time drug dealer and his former student. Because of Walt’s chemistry know-how, he cooks the purest meth and the streets love it. So “Breaking Bad” is about their journey from two small time drug dealers into major players and all the extra that comes with it.

Breaking Bad AMC Season 5

Each season gets darker than the last, and it is a true TV adventure. So much tea, trouble and drama. And I LOVE IT!

And the actors are phenomenal! Bryan Cranston as Walter White and Aaron Paul as Jesse Pinkman are the most dynamic duo on TV. They’re complete opposites but they feed off each other. Bryan played “Hal” the dad on “Malcolm in tHe Middle.” But his character in Breaking Bad is so far from Hal that once you watch it, you can’t even imagine how he could be Hal once upon a time. His badassness is through the roof. And he spends most of the series bald, which adds to it. And Jesse is the most lovable drug addict ever. You can’t help but root for him. And when he says “BITCH” I fist pump.

But even outside of the main stars, the others are awesome too. Bob Odenkirk plays Saul Goodman, the most crooked (and hilarious) lawyer ever, Giancarlo Esposito is Gustavo Fring (the most quiet yet menacing villain I’ve ever encountered), and Anna Gunn is Skyler White, the most ride-or-die wife. This supporting cast is amazing and every one of them deserve an Emmy.

Ok so now that I’ve established my stanhood, last night was the Season 5 premiere of the show, after a 9-month hiatus. We’ve been told that this is the last season, but it’ll be split in half. AMC will show the first 8 episodes now and we’ll have to wait until 2013 for the last 8. And they didn’t waste NO time getting back into high gear. There aren’t spoilers but if you haven’t watched this last episode, stop here just to be safe.

Here are my thoughts on the first episode of the last season.

* Walter is more evil than ever. Every time Walt kills someone, he gets just that much more evil. He prolly got a horcrux somewhere. Ol’ evil ass Heisenberg.

* There are so many bald men on this show.

* Saul’s outfits will always bring me joy

* Mike and Walter are probably gonna have a power showdown this season. I FEEL it in my spleen.

* Skylar has ALL the right in the world to be petrified of Walt. She doesn’t get enough credit for being so ride-or-die.

* That magnet thing was just… I didn’t think they’d get away with it!

* Jesse’s 2 “YEAH BITCH”es gave me what I needed.

* And the Ted situation. WOWWWWW! They certainly threw everyone for a loop with that one.

I can’t wait until next Sunday. Every episode of Breaking Bad is about to be a banger! Are y’all watching? Did you see it? For the folks who’ve never seen it, are you curious to watch? Tell a G.

Yo! But that magnet stuff may have but them from frying pan to the fire. Wasn’t the writing on the picture that got cracked something about a Cayman island ban account?

I am torn on Skylar. AT times I think she and Walt are 2 peas in a pod. Remember how she got that car wash? Then I think she’s afraid of Walt, and then… I dunno.

Mike cannot stand Walt, so yeah a show down id coming. I doubt Walt will want to go hand to hand though cause Mike already gave him beat down. However if Mike finds out some of the stuff Walt has done like Jane & poisoning that kid and uses that against him, the it’s over.

However, it appears that Walt lives at least 2 years from the pilot. Still I can;t help but wonder what happens with the gun he has in the trunk.

Obviously I am a little obsessed with this show.

I started watching it with the AMC rewind from the first episode. My goodness, this is good TV. AMC is giving premium cable channels a serious run for their money.

I love this show with all of my soul, but I never have anyone to talk to about it because I don’t know anyone else who watches. I just can’t get enough of it. It’s so intense, especially the first two seasons, and each episode always leaves me wanting more. Remember the episode when Walt was in the shower and the two guys were sitting on his bed waiting patiently for him? I had to stop it right there because I was so afraid of what they would do to him because they had already been painted to us as the two craziest mofos in the world. Anyway, it took me two days to get the courage to finish the ep, and as you know, I was afraid for nothing. Lol.

As for last night’s premiere, I loved how everything went down . . . except for the very beginning. What was that all about with the gun, the new state, and the alias? The writers have never confused me like that before, usually when they give us a small piece of something, we know why, or at least where it’s going. I don’t know. But I can’t wait til next week to see what was up with that.

And what do yall think about the Lily of the Valley flower? Supposedly Walt poisoned Brock with it. I must have missed something because I don’t remember when, where, or how he did it. But if he did, it was freaking brilliant of him to do it knowing that Jesse would say it was the rison and possibly be held while Walt took care of his business. But if not, what a coincidence.

I can explain the beginning. It’s a flash forward of sorts. Not sure if you recall, but the very first episode of the series was Walt’s 50th birthday and Walt Jr & Skylar gave him breakfast with the bacon spelling out 50. So the first scene is Walt’s 52nd b-day. Something bg is going down. His ID he shows the waitress says he’s from New Hampshire. I don’t know if that means Walt’s in Witness Protection or under cover. The guy he buys the gun from is the same guy he bought the guy from when he was going to try and kill Gus. This time it’s a heavy duty AK60. Not sure if this means a fight against the cartel or what. I’m also wondering about the fact that he has hair again, but still has that cough. He takes a pill in the bathroom. maybe cancer meds.

Whatever it is. I don’t think we find out until the end like the teddy bear in the pool that we didn’t know was from the plane crash until the end of season 3.

I swear! I started watching Breaking Bad on Netflix one year ago. I watched the first 3 seasons in like a week. I tell people to watch all of the time but it falls on deaf ears. This has got to be the most slept on show and network!

Sad to hear this is the last season. But, my favorite character is definitely Gustavo Bring aka BIG BROTHA ALMIGHTY!

Glad to have a forum that shares my love for Breaking Bad as well as LHHATL.

Me no likey Skylar!!! With little escapade with Ted, loyalty went out the window… But I love Walter White !!!! He is the most ruthless nerd on TV!!!!

I also got into this show a few months ago, thanks to word-of-mouth and Netflix. Similar to my experience with The Wire, I had to ask myself how I’ve allowed myself to miss out on TV Brilliance for this long!

    Anyway…

    * I felt slow for not realizing that Walt spelled out “52” with the bacon. It looked like an atomic bomb cloud to me.

*I HATED Ted Benecke up until last night – I actually felt bad for the guy! His terror of Skylar is REAL. As much as she doesn’t want to admit or acknowledge it, she’s got a cold-blooded streak as well. If she continues on this path, she and Walt will be Bonnie and Clyde!!

*Walt scared the crap out of me when he came around Saul’s desk. I thought he was going to do harm to everyone’s favorite Bus Bench lawyer. Walt has become terrifying.

*I wonder if Jesse will find out the truth about Walt’s involvement with Jane and Brock. Can you imagine???

    Luvvie,

    I had to comment here.

I came to your site because of a clip I saw you in for Click Bump SEO.

    Here’s the deal…

I’m a 60 year old white guy that lives in the burbs. I’ve been involved in sales and marketing all of my life.

I have never found a blog that is not sales and marketing related that I would read let alone grab the RSS feed. Your blog is the first!

I’ve read a number of posts, 30% of the time I have no idea what you are saying (white guy) but I luv what you are doing and I luv how you write. Truly entertaining!

Regarding Breaking Bad, I started to watch it on Netflix last year and for some reason I didn’t get back to it. Looks like I better start up again.

    Thanks again, I’ll be reading.

I was talking to my hub about Breaking Bad last night and he told me that he is not watching it until all the seasons are done. He told me about that split season thing and I was like, “WHAT?!” Seems cruel. But I look forward to seeing it all. Right now I’m watching Weeds, I’m on season 3, but Breaking Bad is next. Thanks for the glowing endorsement. I can’t believe that dude was ever Malcolm’s dad. Beeeezaaaarrrrre!
