Viacom and DirecTV Beef and Shade Each Other on Twitter

The other day, I wrote “5 Things I’m Not Here For” and one of those is the beef that Viacom and DirecTV are having. DirecTV dropped all of Viacom’s channels before midnight on Monday, because they haven’t renegotiated their contract. Apparently, the two companies can’t agree on terms so DirecTV yanked all 26 Viacom channels, which includes MTV, BET, VH1, and Nickelodeon. Basically, they snatched my TV-watching from up under me. These channels (the first 3 anyway) showcase most of the ratchetness on television, so without them, I’m left with little foolishment. Since Monday, I’ve watched nothing but HGTv and Food Network. Don’t get me wrong, I love “House Hunters” and “Cupcake Wars” as much as the next person but I AM READY FOR FOOLERY.

Allow me to quote myself:

“I’ont gibbadamb who pulled whose ponytail or who stole the other person’s lunch. I need them to WORK THIS OUT! Innocent people are suffering from lack of foolery at the hands of VIACOM and DirecTV’s pettiness with this whole bill disagreement. WHY MUST WE SUFFER??? They can’t take away all my ratchet channels like this. Like for real. I can’t watch Snooki’s munchkin life, I can’t hate on BET for no reason and VH1’s ratchetness gives me the tea for my fever. I need them to figure this out and fix it ASAPtually because I’m not here for this.”

Anywho, I tweeted about how these companies are playing bald-headed games with my money and emotions. As EBONY.com’s ratchetness connoisseur, I must fulfill my duties and watch “Love and Hip Hop ATL” tomorrow night but without VH1, I can’t do that. So DirecTV replied to my tweet talmbout:

DirecTV Tweet to Luvvie

LOL they were like “we can explain.” I appreciated it. And then I checked Viacom timeline and got my LIFE! They were being soooo shadeful to DirecTV. Turns out that both companies have been tweeting shade about/to each other and I cackled. I’ont have nothing else to watch so I watched the beef between the companies.

And I made a Storify about it.

Every tweet in here that isn’t from Viacom or DirecTV was RTed by one of their accounts as their “more people” I guess. But LMAO at the #DirecTVHasMyBack hashtag, which Viacom shaded to pieces. The person tweeting for Viacom doesn’t give HALF of a damb. I kinda love it.

But yeah. Whose side are you on? You #TeamViacom or #TeamDirecTV or #TeamSOMEBODYFIXTHIS?

I knew it was going to get sloppy because I checked out DirecTV’s website, and they had nothing but some Viacom shade on there. I was like, well if this isn’t some school yard bull sh*t I don’t know what is. I honestly am Team whoever keeps my bill low and gives me the same channels. Too much?

I never thought I’d be happy to have Comcast. They’re so overpriced they can’t get into a price war #womp

#TeamDirecTV Comcast is overpriced, XFinity got stuff I don’t even need, and everything else has a conditional bundle pack. Tired of it. Meanwhile, I’m online watching stuff that Viacom wanna play with and take a way. Mooooving on.

Team Xfinity here. I guess this is the sign of things to come. Dish Tv & AMC had a similar beef on a much smaller scale. I guess if you aren’t Breaking Bad fan you missed it. Still I crack up every time AMC’s announcer says “Available on cable and satellite EXCEPT for DISH tv.” With much emphasis and shade on the words DISH tv

I no longer have either TV or cable, so I couldn’t care less, but the shade from Viacom is priceless! I hollered at the make up sex tweet. I think it’s all overpriced bullshit, really. *shrug*
