Announcing the Ratchet and the Geek Podcast, My Latest Project!
It either I’m a glutton for punishment or I’m a busybody or a combination of both but I’m here to announce my newest side project!
The Ratchet and the Geek podcast with my friend, technology OG Scott Hanselman!
For those who might not know, a podcast is basically a radio show that you can download and listen to on your phone or mp3 players. When you subscribe to it via iTunes, you get new ones sent to you automatically. Podcasts are awesome. They’re not just your regular BlogTalkRadio shows. You might already know of one called This Week in Blackness.
I decided to do this show with Scott because we’ve been talking about it for a long while. Both of us are techies with ratchet sides and we love to talk to folks about technology. We met at Blogging While Brown 2010 and have been connected in geekery and friendship since!
So we bought the domain last year and we’ve sat on it waiting for the right time to do it. This summer was supposed to be our launch but our busy scheduled kept making us miss opportunities. So Scott called me last week and said “LET’S DO THIS ALREADY!” and VOILA!
Ratchet and the Geek is a show where we’ll be talmbout all things social media, TV, gadgets, stories of fail, dumbest tweets and more! Who’s the ratchet on and who’s the geek? You might think you know already but both of us are both! Trust me. Scott is ratchet. Don’t let the “White man who got sense” look fool you!
Sidenote: That picture of me and Scott when we were young will NOT stop making me laugh. Chile WUT?!? HA!
Scott and I (and our friend Adria) collaborated before. We gave the opening keynote at this year’s Blogging While Brown Conference, and it was called “Personal Branding: It IS all about you.” It rocked. So this podcast will rock too. And if it doesn’t we’ll act like it never happened and go into hiding. By hiding, I mean tweet about our shame.
So we’ll be bringing you Ratchet and the Geek every 2 weeks. Unless you hate it. Then like I said before, act like this never happened. Ratchet and the Geek? WHAT’S THAT? I NEVER HEARD OF IT! *runs away*

Listened so I googled Scott and
