I Was on WGNTV’s “People to People” With Micah Materre!

My peoples! I somehow failed to give y’all a heads up but I was on TV this weekend! It was WGN-TV’s People to People with Micah Materre, and I had a GOODT time! I was invited on to speak about my work with my nonprofit organization The Red Pump Project as well as my blogging here. It was for two segments, so I was on for over ten minutes. In TV time, that’s forever!

Micah was incredibly nice, and even had on a pair of red pumps for the interview. We talked about how Red Pump got started, what our mission and message is, and how we use social media for our work. And then we talked about how blogging has allowed me to reach people I’d never imagined. She even screencapped some of my tweets and got me to admit one of my dreams out loud! From my mouth to God’s ears.

I’m so grateful for the opportunity. Thanks to producer, Tyra Martin! This is my 2nd time on WGN. I was on it last year with Afrobella right before we left for LA to go to the Academy Awards. This is my 3rd total time being interviewed on TV.

Luvvie Micah Materre People to People

The segment description is:
BLOGGER AND AIDS ACTIVIST LUVVIE AJAYI, ALSO KNOWN AS “AWESOMELY LUVVIE” SHARES HER STORY ABOUT FIND SUCCESS ON SOCIAL MEDIA AND HER EFFORTS TO PREVENT THE SPREAD OF AIDS/HIV.

BOOM!

Anyway, check out the interview below!

Here’s the 2nd segment:

Also, I watched it with my mom and she told me I did good. And I trust her bias judgment. So yayyy!
