Truths and Consequences: Scandal Episode 212 Recap

It was worth the wait. Two weeks ago when Scandal left off after the flashback of Olivia giving the League of Goons her tearful and hesitant approval of the election rigging, I was feeling all the feelings. Especially since Senator Pudding Pop had just proposed and President Ghost had just asked Mellie for a divorce. Such a long 14 days. So much so that I made a chart last week of why Scandal cannot go away for 2 whole weeks. I was hungry for it and it fed me last night.

Say Youll Wait For Me Scandal

Flashback to Defiance – An old dude is telling folks in an auditorium that they’ll be debuting touch screen voting machines instead of paper ballots for the first time. It’s Defiance, Ohio, and these machines are labeled with “Cytron.” There’s a curly-haired young guy there who takes interest in this, and I suspected that he’s Quinn’s boyfriend. He places a call to her and this is confirmed.

David Be Knowing – There’s a bunch of men in David’s office and Hollis is sitting in the center. He tells him he knows he rigged the election that put the current President (Ghost) in office, and he’s sure he had accomplices who were really high up in the White House. Rosen is RIGHT on the money. Not one to take kindly to the truth, Hollis tells him to basically watch his back. Chile…

Mellie Ain’t the Light – A frazzled Mellie barges into Cyrus’ office, telling him that President Ghost asked her for a divorce and Cy is shocked. First Lady says “He got shot and he saw the light or baby Jesus or something!” He sure did see the light but it wasn’t for her. OOP.

The Main Problem – Liv is sitting in her office absentmindedly twirling a pretty nice diamond ring as the Gladiators look on wondering what’s going on with her. Abby wonders if Senator Pudding Pop proposed to her, and Harrison tells her it’s none of their business. WELP. Then Hollis shows up and tells Liv “It appears we still have a David Rosen problem. Which means you now have a Hollis Doyle problem.” She says she’ll fix it and he tells her if she doesn’t, then he’ll sell the entire League of Goons down the river, saving his own ass. I hate Hollis and I want him to DAH!

Hollis Liv Scandal

The Ineffective Wig Snatch – Cyrus tries to talk President Ghost out of this divorce thing. He says it’s ridiculous for him to think about breaking up with his due any day wife who is carrying “America’s baby” to go frolic with Olivia, who might he add, is the wrong “hue” which would really raise hell. After he gives his tongue lashing, Ghostie replies that when you get shot in head, “You stop being afraid about anything or anyone. When you don’t die and miraculously live, you realize you have nothing to lose.” He basically told Cy that he has no dambs to give about all that, he’s not here for Mellie, he’s ALL here for Liv and he does what he wants. All:

No Fucks Given gif

That’s so segzy. Owww!

Jesse Ain’t a Saint – We flashback to Jesse, Quinn’s boyfriend, speaking to Hollis on the phone. He’s asking for more money otherwise, he’ll blow the lid off the election rigging. As he was in the middle of a sentence, Hollis hangs up. Aw shit. You can’t play with a wild snake and expect not to be bitten.

Olivia Can’t. Can Iyanla? – Liv is sitting in Cyrus’ office, telling him that Hollis is ready to cause hella trouble. On the verge of tears, she says “David Rosen is the good guy. And we are the bad guys.” Her guilty conscience is sitting on her chest as she regrets ever giving that approval for the campaign rigging. And for the first time, she utters the words “I can’t fix it.” AW NAWL!!! SOMEONE CALL IYANLA! LAWD! She looked broken and helpless and it made me nervous. Cy too, because he told her that HE will fix it.

Pope is Pooped – Liv goes home and gets in bed immediately. Olivia Pope doesn’t take naps! Now she’s laying her burdens under a blanket. Oh this is serious! That night, she gets a phone call and it’s from President Ghost saying he just wanted to hear her voice. She weakly tells him “You don’t know who I am. You don’t know me. Edison asked me to marry him. He gave me a ring… go have some babies. Find normal.” He tells her he asked Mellie for a divorce and wants her. “Say you’ll wait for me.” I’LL WAIT, PRESIDENT GHOST! Oh. You weren’t talmbout me? Aight. (-___-)

Wait for Me 1 gif Wait for me 2 gif

The next day, Senator Pudding Pop shows up to see her laying all catatonic in bed and asks her what was wrong. She tells him to leave and turns away from him. But it must be noted that as she laid in that bed shooing away California Raisin, her hair was LAIDT like good sheets and them brows were SNATCHED! YESSS!

Go Away scandal Olivia tells Edison to go away Scandal

Wonder Gladiators Gladiate! – PudPop goes to the Gladiator office to tell them that Liv isn’t getting out of bed. And since they see her and talk to her everyday, they’re her family. He needs their help pulling her out of whatever funk she is in, which is incredibly unlike her. I was cracking up at the way they were all mean-mugging him though, It’s clear that they are not e’em here for him at all.

When he leaves, Quinn comes up with the idea that they all share a secret they know that might help them put together this puzzle, and they have to be able to say everything without judgment. Harrison gets Huck to agree to confirm their guesses for them if they’re correct.

First up is Quinn, who tells them that Huck is the one who created her new identity and brought her to DC AFTER shooting her up with medicine to knock her out. But he did it on Liv’s commands, saving her from being killed by the Cytron folks. Abby says Jesse called Hollis 11 times the week before the Cytron explosion. Knowing that Hollis is also who Liv believes is behind the President’s assassination and the fact that she hasn’t turned him in, they figure that it’s because he must have something on HUGE on Liv. Well putting 2 and 2 together on the Cytron rigging, they realize that Olivia knew and must have been covering up the rigging of the election! THEY FIGURED IT OUT! THOSE DAMB GLADIATORS GLADIATED THE HELL OUT OF GLADIATING!

Mellie the Elephant – Mellie’s getting a checkup, and her OB-GYN says she still has four weeks left before her due date. DANG! I feel like she’s been pregnant FOREVER! Is she an elephant?? This child is gonna be 2 years old when it’s born. The doctor tells her they’ve done a plan with the White House to allow President Ghost to be present at the birth and the look of doubt on Mellie’s face is telling. E’em she knows he’ont curr that much.

Huck Wants Hollis Handled – Huck walks out as the Gladiators are letting their new realization settle in and goes to Liv’s crib. He sees her in bed and lays next to her, on her crispy white sheets. I thought her bedspread would be brown when he got up but I’m shadeful so… anywho, he asks Liv if she wants Hollis handled. She says she doesn’t want him to keep killing people all willy nilly, and she wants justice, not more dead bodies. Besides, since Cyrus said he’d handle it, she’s gonna let him. Huck tells her that Cyrus is part of his circle and will also be dealing with Hollis PERMANENTLY, since his assassin on retainer is Charlie. It dawns on Liv what Cy’s plan is and she hops out of bed to stop it.

Verna Votes NAWL – Liv goes to see Justice Verna, who looks like she’s at death’s door and he’s about to open it. Aaawwww. Olivia is ready to make herself a scapegoat and Verna tells her “you have a chance at redemption… take it.”

Hollis Hauled In – The Feds rush in Hollis’ office with a warrant for his arrest as a suspect in the shooting of President Ghost. They get the phone in his office desk (the burner used to call Becky) and take him in. Olivia pulled that card, and is sitting in David’s office when it happened. They don’t have much evidence so they can only hold Hollis for 48 hours unless something stronger comes through. This is clearly Liv’s way of trying to keep Hollis from being killed by Cyrus’ goon. As she leave David’s office, he says “Just so you know. This doesn’t make us even. And it won’t stop me from coming after you guns blazing.” EFF YOU, DAVID!

Falling House of Cards – Liv (in an amazing wide-collared jacket) tells Cyrus that she turned Hollis in to David because he needs to be brought to justice, and if it leads to the rest of them falling along with him if he rig snitches, so be it. “Get your house in order, Cyrus. And hire a good lawyer. Make sure it’s a good one!” Aw SNAP.

Gladiators Got Her Back – As Quinn an’ em talk about what they now know, and the questions they have, Liv shows up ready to answer any and all. Harrison shuts it down immediately, saying he would leave the room because he doesn’t need answers AND the more they know, then they are opening themselves up to the possibility of being subpoenaed. Abby agrees and Quinn comes around last. They ask Liv what she needs and she says more evidence to be able to keep Hollis behind bars. They start working on that.

Gladiators Got Liv Scandal

Flashback of the Jealous Quinn – We see that Becky was hired to send calls and texts to Jesse’s phone, all for Quinn to stumble upon. When she loses her cool and calls him telling him he’s “dead” they had what they needed to create the jealous girlfriend who killed him narrative.

Cyrus Wants Hollis Out – Cyrus calls David in to talk about how the White House is hoping he doesn’t keep Hollis detained for too long if he’s innocent because it’d be a PR nightmare for them. The main reason is because his hired goon Charlie can’t touch Hollis while he’s locked up. Lawd.

Becky Gives Up Goods – To try to make the accusation stick, the Gladiators need to find some bank record to show that Hollis paid Becky a sum on or around the date of the assassination attempt. But since he uses Swiss accounts, they need to find the info of the account. They need Becky for this.

Huck Got the Power – Harrison and Huck go see Becky under the pretense of being her lawyers. Huck e’em put on a fancy ill-fitting suit for the occasion (prolly borrowed from Harrison) and when Becky sees him, of course she’s shocked. They start talking and it flashbacks to two years before. Jesse gets a package at his desk at work with Lindsey Dwyer’s (now Quinn) name on it. He gets an opener and an explosion happens, as Becky sits outside watching from her car. Later that night, she watches as Huck throws an unconscious Quinn over his shoulder and out her house. Turns out that setting him up for the assassination of Prez Ghost was her payback for him ruining her “perfect job.”

So she tells him that how is he there asking for a favor when she killed his family? He says he doesn’t hate her because he knows it was just business. To prove it, he gives her a slip of paper with his name on it. Huck is giving Becky his name SO SHE KNOW IT’S REAL!!! Aawww Assassin Goon Love. Sweet and Terrible.

Put Your Back Into It – Cyrus tells Mellie that his attempt at appealing to Prez Ghost didn’t work and she says “I loathe Olivia Pope. But it’s a boring kind of hate. It’s hard to get my back into it.” Look at “Saved the Last Mellie.”

Hate Olivia Pope scandal Hate Olivia Pope 2

But they know that what both of them hold near and dear (their statuses) will be lost if Fitz really does end his marriage. Cyrus tells her to find one last trick in her bag to make sure this doesn’t happen and she does. She goes to see her gynecologist. Yes, we all see where this is going.

It Will Be Ok – Back at the Gladiator office, Huck sees Liv looking less than her POPENESS and he gives her one of his stern wig snatches, tempered with his omnipresent underlying love and respect. “Everything is gonna be ok. And even if it’s not ok, I gotchu, Liv.” Harrison, listen. You got me too. Hey boo.

It Wasn’t Hollis – Huck cracks into Becky’s international account and sees money transferred from Hollis’ account from two years before, obviously for the Cytron explosion job. And then sees a huge sum ($5 Million) from the day after the attempted assassination of President Ghost. Well, not a huge sum if that’s what the Prez’s bounty is. Anyway, the account number is not Hollis’! He did not order the kill! Liv calls David immediately, telling him to Hollis isn’t guilty of that, but for him to hold him a bit longer. David tells him Hollis was released an hour before. UH OH!

The Desperate Measure – Cyrus finds President Ghost summoning Tom and Hal so he can do see Olivia in broad daylight. See? ALL the dambs are gone. But they’re interrupted when someone says it’s an emergency with the First Lady. The manipulative shrew had the OB-GYN induce her labor, and as POTUS rushes in, she’s screaming (and obviously adding extra drama) and reaches out to him. He hesitates before finally grabbing her hand and assuming his coach position.

Hollis gon GET IT – Hollis walks into an elevator and as the door starts to close, a man walks in and says what floor he’s going to. As the show ends, we see it’s Charlie. HOLLIS BOUT TA DAH!!!

LAWDDDDDDDD!!!

In next week’s preview, we see a coffin with Justice Verna in it! LAWD!

Scndal Preview

WHO TRIED TO KILL THE PRESIDENT IF IT WASN’T HOLLIS?!? WHY AM I ON AN EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER?!? WHY DO I NEED A CAN REFILL BECAUSE I AM FRESH OUT OF ANY CAN ABILITY?!?! *faints*

I have been WAITING fror someone to give crazy Mellie a reason to pop off. Here it is!!! I am excited for the unrestrained crazy that is about to come spewing out of her. Yesssss!!!!

Can I just say I am here for Mellie alittle more each week. Last night when she went on about how she was the one to clean Fitz up and make him into who he is, I actually felt bad for her and was mad at Fitz. Of course, he and Liv belong together, but I Mellie is making me feel a little bad for her. BUT, I do suspect she had something to do with the attempted assassination. Remember how she was hesitant to get out the car? Yeah, if that’s the case Mellie deserves all of this.

I suspect Mellie had something to do with the assissination also!! We were talking bout that at work this morning! Sneaky heffa. I’m still annoyed about Edison and have nothing further to comment on about him. As far as the Gladiators go, Quinn is a pain and if she wants answers, she should go to ask.com, otherwise, leave well enough alone! I.cannot.wait until next week!!

After that scene I now want a Mellie/Fitz flashback. I want to see how they met and when they fell out of love (if they were ever in love to begin with).

          February 2, 2013 at 10:27 pm

YES! I want to see a Fitz/Mellie flashback pre-Pope. Where did the love go? Where are their children?

Yeah, I am pretty impressed with Mellie. And you know what? She’s right. I’m glad to see her say that. I think that her story rings true for the partners of a lot of public people. Fitz would have been middle management somewhere in the midwest if it weren’t for her.

And I’ll tell you one thing. If Mellie doesn’t get to be first lady any more, she’s going to make damned sure Fitz doesn’t get to be President.

Y’all KNOW that mystery account is finna be Mellie’s!!! They didn’t link up how she was all “I don’t wanna go to the party” clutchin his hand in the limo and whatnot when we know she loves the limelight. Was it woman’s intuition? I think not! Mellie ordered the hit to assassinate her husband mr president on his 50th birthday. She is the queen goon. She already told Cyrus she’s an “animal.”

    Don’t belee’me? Juh watch!

      • TheCityDweller
        February 1, 2013 at 11:20 am

But Verna had a lot to lose from Fitz’s death. The VP would be in power, and could unseat Verna from the Supreme Court. It wouldn’t be wise for Verna to have him attacked.

Can I just say if a car bomb takes out Quinn and Abby, I wouldn’t care?
I loved Huck just coming in and laying bed with Liv (but yeah, I hoped he’d taken a shower before that).
Yeah I figured Melie would induce labor but honestly, I forgot they had kids. Have they ever shown them? Are they off in boarding school or something?
I want Hollis dead NOW. But we saw Huck in the elevator with Charlie and Hollis so he’ll be sticking around I guess. He’s such an ass.
Again Quinn & Abby- I love the way Quinn went from being intimidated by Olivia Pope but now demands answers. The way they talk to Liv sometimes makes you wonder just who’s the boss.

    • February 1, 2013 at 9:22 am

LOL very few people are here for Abby. And Quinn too. Both of them are annoying as hell but now we know Quinn’s reason. She’s tryna piece together her past. Abby just seems abrasive.

And don’t get it twisted. Liv is ALWAYS boss. Sometimes they challenge her but don’t doubt that she’s the Head Goon in that office.

    • February 1, 2013 at 10:58 am

Yeah. Theyre away at boarding school …but nobody cares when Daddy gets shot in the head and comes home for a visit or sum’n? Um, ok.

I will say that I do sorta feel for Quinn because she didn’t ask for any of this; she just got thrust into it. But ever since that nastee sex scene with her and Rosen, I’ve been wanting them to write Abby off.

I also need Olivia to change the locks on her place. The way Pudding Pop just walked in there (Huck too).

    • February 1, 2013 at 9:21 am

Huck will ALWAYS have a key to Liv’s place. ALWAYS. Belee dat. But yeah, she needs to take PudPop’s key from him.

      • Milaxx
        February 1, 2013 at 10:20 am

Wouldn’t matter if Huck didn’t have a key. If he thought it was important to get in Liv’s crib, you know he gonna be in. Puddinpop on the other hand needs to lose his privileges.

LMAO at that pic of the person planking in the grass.
Can I first point out how Harrison was sweating bullets in the scene were everyone was coming clean about there “past?” He didn’t say a mumbling word about how he destroyed Abby and David’s relationship. mmmhmmm (but I still love you Harrison, you are my husband in my head).

    And CYRUS >>>>>>>>>>>>>

Cyrus is my nigga. I know he ain’t shit. I know he ain’t but I love him. I am here for his rants. I am here for him trying to murk Hollis. I’m here for his loyalty to the president.

As for who had tried to assassinate the president, I have no clue. I think Mellie is an easy guess but I honestly don’t think she did it. Anyway, I can’t wait til next week.

My vote is for Mellie, you remember how she wanted to skip the party all of a sudden right before he was shot!? If it wasn’t Hollis it had to be Mellie IMO. She induced that labor too…but you peeped how Fitz was like looking at her like O_o when she reached out to him haha.

You know, Mellie has really grown on me. I find that I am here for her more and more as time goes by. I about lost it when she said “I loathe Olivia Pope. But it’s a boring kind of hate. It’s hard to get my back into it.” She is truly that person you love to hate.

And as for Harrison last night – *faints*, gets back up,*faints* again. Chile, I am ALLLLLLL the way here for him! Also did anyone notice how he was the only person that didn’t give any information in their little secret telling session?

All I know is that with all this excitement, buffoonery and mayhem going on I’m gonna need a pacemaker to be able to continue to watch the rest of the season!

First I’m done with Luvvie and the Sound of Music Gif Lmaooo funniest yet………
This show had me on edge and unable to contemplate anything else then the end scene and who shot Fitz for the rest of the night I even woke up thinking about the show…

I of course blame Shonda and her witch doctor team writers who lure us in every wk with their ability to keep track of all seemingly minuscule details with a fine tooth comb and tie it all together to leave you staring at your t.v. like where is my life and how do I get it back….

I have two ideas of who hired as I never really thought it was just Hollis..I’m still going with Mellie and perhaps it was the man Fitz beat out for Prez. Don’t know his name but he dis lol his wife’s luva so assasination not too far-fetched. I don’t think we have seen the last of him.

My sis thinks something interesting that it might have been Fitz himself..idk but plausible.

Lastly am I the only one who secretly wished someone poisoned Hollis’s coffee 🙂 Great Recap Luvvie.

    February 1, 2013 at 10:39 am

I think Mellie did do it. The episode it happened was so telling and they’re just throwing us these loopholes to confuse us. Fitz needs a way out of his marriage that won’t lose him the people’s love and what better way than “my crazy a** wife tried to kills me”.

On the other hand I can’t believe that she would risk losing her FLOTUS status that way. UNLESS she was getting tired of him and planned on using his death as a way to gain sympathy votes when she decides to run for president in the future, because we all know she wants that. She loves the status more than the man and what better way to keep the status…

On the other hand, I don’t know. I just feel so lost and confused and I just want to know who did it. I’m going crazy coming up with possible reasons.

What if it was Edison? I feel like he’s hardly suggested..

    🙁

    • Milaxx
      February 1, 2013 at 12:40 pm

I don’t think Mellie did it and I’m sure when Shonda reveals who did it, it will be someone we least suspect.

      • saro
        February 3, 2013 at 3:12 pm

I agree, I think it’s gonna be someone that we won’t suspect at all. I keep repeating it but I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH.

  17. February 1, 2013 at 10:53 am

That Mellie gets on my damn nerves, but lawd if she don’t take these episodes up a notch! Am I the only one that thinks something is going to be wrong with America’s Baby?

I think Mellie knew of the assassination attempt, but I think the VP She-Devil was really behind it. She was too ready with her power play in my opinion.

And Harrison needs to get a love life so we can see him buck-nekkid at some point this season. Even if he’s with a random. Luvvie use your twitter connections to make this happen. Please and thanks!

I had to take notes last night, actual notes on a notecard.

-Cyrus said Olivia was not the right *hue* (I was DONE)
-Everyone needs a goon and it looks like they all have one
-Abby had the nerve the say “no judgments” to Quinn. Abby is the original Miss Judgmental
-Quinn needs to understand that had it not been for Olivia and Huck she would be on Def Row
-Last night Abby finally got on board and she was willing to walk out of the office with Harrison. Abby is finally on board.

When is Liv going to change her locks. I know Huck could get in but why is Senator Pudding Pop just walking right into her apartment. Just because he gave her a ring? He reminds me of that guy at the club who is constantly in your face asking for a dance or to talk you up.

    Scandal does not disappoint.

It DOES seem like Mellie’s been preggers for 80 years, but I think it’s because the season started a few months ago and they haven’t bothered to make her pregnancy belly *progressively* bigger. They started her off with the bout-to-pop size, so it seems like a long time. However, if she was seven months at season start, and all of this drama has happened over the course of, say, three weeks in Scandal chronology, then I guess it’s possible. The contents of this season would be a whole lot to jam into 21 days, though, so Idk.

Once again, this episode was sooo satisfying but left soooo many questions. 1) What exactly is David’s strategy? You just gon call someone in your office and say I’m looking at you for rigging an election? 2) Cyrus pointing out Olivia’s “hue” slayed me. 3) I’m not advocating violence, but why did Liv stop Hollis from getting a visit from Charlie? That would’ve solved a whole lot. Her turning him in so he doesn’t get popped… yes, it saved his life, but it put heat on him. He brushed it off his shoulder like so much lint, but he could easily view it as betrayal requiring retaliation, rather than “thanks for keeping me from getting murked.” I just don’t get her strategy. However, if Charlie takes an elevator ride with him, there may not be any Hollis to discuss. 4) Huck strolling into the jail with that picnic-basket shirt and tie cracked me up. Idk how her account info clears Hollis of the assassination attempt, though. Are the Gladiators sure they have ALL his accounts monitored? He could have any number of accounts, under any number of names. Idk.

And finally, what black woman lays her head down on any pillow without putting a scarf on it first???

    • nichole
      February 1, 2013 at 11:49 am

Yes, yes, the scarf? No wrap, no rollers, no pin curls…nothing.

And I agree, why not let Charlie handle Hollis, permanently? Cyrus is footing the bill so who would it hurt? I actually thought the correctional officer that came in with the coffee for Hollis while David was talking to the lawyer was Charlie. That would have been nice and slick. A little something something in his coffee while he was in jail?

    • February 1, 2013 at 12:17 pm

That would be a woman that has no dambs left to give…I think Liv was there foreal.

I think Liv us feeling guilty about getting in to cahoots with Hollis and all the bloodshed that has happened as a result. She can’t take one more death on her conscience, even if it is Hollis.

  21. February 1, 2013 at 11:44 am

This episode has me messed up. Shonda is not about that life. At all.

Still can’t stand Hollis. He had me cracking up though in that interrogation room reading the comics.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who cringed when Huck just layed up on Liv’s bed.

Columbus Short/Harrison: My body is ready.

So Quinn’s boyfriend was wack…go figure. Also: who grins when they get a package from an angry ex? Curious? Sure. Happy? Nawl!

Quinn is the dumbest lawyer ever. Harrison is a finance man and had to tell her that she could be subpeonaed if they pressed for info? Ma’am?

I hope Liv isn’t serious about marrying down. Edison is so boring. I mean…ugh. She straight told him to lick rocks.
Side note: whoever is behind that fake Scandal Facebook has me in stitches whenever they post. Edison: “I’ve watched her wrap her hair.” Ghost: “And I’ve helped her sweat it out.” I DIED!

I thought Mellie had something to do with this from the beginning when she didn’t get hit right beside the president but Britta Kagen waaaaaaay across the way from her and Ghost did? I’m sticking with that guess. Is Mellie old money? Hmmm Also: that ain’t my (tv) president’s baby! That’s probably Tom’s baby.

Ok, can I just say I am firmly on #TeamMellie. It could be my 20+ years of being a wifey that made that rant about her helping make him the man he is today seem so on point. Oh sir, you will not take MY finished product to the next chick just like that! Cy told her she needed to bring out the big guns AND SHE DID. Chick is hella determined and I’m here for it all. Yes, he initially looked at her like umm why are you holding out your hand but the next 10 minutes was pure teamwork and emotion. There is still SOMETHING there and I’ll be damned if my girl is not going to work it to the best of her ability.
I’m thinking the hit was ordered by either Verna, VP Sally or some wack job in her camp that wanted her for Prez.
Could Huck look more uncomfortable in a suit or more adorable lying in Liv’s bed with her lol. I need a Huck in my life!
I’m going to need Quinn to take several seats. For some strange reason she keeps forgetting that she would be underneath a jail cell if Liv would not have intervened. I’m almost ready for her to have a “visit” with Charlie if she keeps it up! Hopefully her acquiescing last night will change some of that cause she makes me want to slap her each episode.
Senator Pudding Pop is trying so hard…bless his heart.
Harrison….yes, yes, ok and whatever you want!

    • February 1, 2013 at 4:07 pm

I mean, I get it but… Nawl. I can’t with Mellie. And why can’t I can’t with Mellie? Because she creates more problems than solutions. And she does it because she’s selfish. Yeah, Fitz is her husband, but every one of her antics have come out of her selfish need to be the perfect first lady (and whatever else it is she wants after that). America’s baby, forging his signature, induced labor — all stunts so she can get what she wants. I can’t with her. Someone needs to elect her mayor of a small town so she can have something to do.

    February 1, 2013 at 11:51 am

    Harrison..toot toot..seccccckkkks-say honey!

Anyways, Mellie, Verna, Hollis..they all seem like easy suspects of who may have wanted to kill the president. However, who wanted the presidency hella bad???…the Bible thumpin’ vice president woman. She may have something to do with it.

I like Cyrus too, even though he ain’t sh$t.

I respect Puddin Pop for trying with Olivia (I call my baby nephew that) however he’s getting on my nerves. She don’t want him period and her crew could care less about him. I almost feel sorry for him because he’s riding on a one way street.

Mellie is not accepting a divorce screw that. However, I know in my heart of hearts that that marriage is farce, to keep up with appearances, a marriage of convenience if you will.

  24. February 1, 2013 at 12:09 pm

For once I have nothing to add…but OMG Luvvie, you gon get me fired with these gifs. That What is my life gif almost had me on the floor. I will no longer sit at the end of my chair when reading your recaps.

PS I lied I do have one thing to say…I think Mellie or Sally may have tried to kill Fitz.. Did you see how she said she was gonna dance on his grave if he divorced her? Sounds like a threat to me, and she has more than enough motive.

  25. February 1, 2013 at 12:10 pm

YAAAAASSSSSSSSS! Just in time for my lunch break!

First, I will say I suspected Mellie in the first place. *yep* She has motives, I tell ya…namely to be the first widowed president! Aaaaaannnnddd…did you see where she was talking about their first two young’ns? I see it was not slways about power. She loves him.

I need to find the designer of Liv’s bed linens. They looked like they were woven from gossamer angel wings. These are the sheets you need to keep hair laid like the finest silk.

Why did Sen. Raisin pop up on there like he already lived there? I would’ve screamed CRAMPS like ol’girl from I’m Gonna Git You Sucka. After his threats last time he should have no access to get block, let alone her apartment.

I thought Hollis was a goner too but Huck is in the elevator with him and Charlie, so…perhaps tag team his evil ass perhaps?

    Maybe Verna will take the hit on her deathbed so Liv can be free of goon guilt. I will cry for Verna, yes I will. (o_q*}

Fitz must really have brain damage if he thinks he can ditch a pregnant wife for a sistah, no matter how fly she is. Even after he got the statistics back that told him his presidency would be in the dumpster, he was like “WELP. Don’t give two dambs and four quarters about y’all at all. I am going to get my woman. See ya – wouldn’t wanna be ya.” Cyrus looked at him like he lost his rabid-assed mind. Best scene ever.

David stays trying to slap everybody with his D.

  26. February 1, 2013 at 12:17 pm

Luvvie chile, that “what is my life?” .gif was me last night!!!!! I had to do a reevaluation of my entire existence cause Shonda gave not one good damb about my feelings! But I wanted to kick Mellie dead in her throat for setting up Ghost like that, LET HIM BE WITH HIS WOMAN, GURL, HE AIN’T HERE FOR YOU!!!!!!!! I’m still wondering how Puddin Pop has a key to Liv’s place (SHE ON’EM KNOW YOU LIKE THAT!!!) and Liv broke me with her breakdown; I wanted to reach through the TV and hug her and just tell her it was gon’ be all right. Now, as for who shot Fitz, I’on’em know but my money is on Mellie, Sally, or shidddd maybe even Cyrus……I just don’t know why I am so invested in this show but I was truly fighting the air last night…..

OMG I was waiting for this recap!! I stayed hollering the the TV last night. When Fitz asked Olivia to wait for him??? I was on my straight Whitley Gilbert, talking about “I DOOOOO!” Then I recalled that he wasn’t talking to me. And Harrison keeps giving these I got your back, front, and side pep talks, lawd… But as for the person who put the hit on Fitz?? I’m going with VP Heffawanch FTW. I think that Mellie’s woman’s intutition was just on high that night, and that’s why she didn’t want to get out of the car. Hollis probably slipped the VP the number, but she called in the hit!

Hi Luvvie! I love the Scandal recaps. I feel that Puddin Pop shot Fitz! Edison has crazy lurking all under his waters. Accusing Liv of being the President’s mistress and then right after asking her to marry him! I think the reason no one seems to like him is because subconsciously they sense the crazy lurking! And how come Ms. Pope hasn’t changed her locks! She is underestimating crazy Edison! And Fitz is a little crazy too thinking that he can get away with divorcing Mellie while in office. Damn I love dis show!

Who shot Fitz? Iono! Seems like everyone one the show could have a reason. Maybe we’ll be lucky and it’ll be Edison so he can go the H*ll away! SHE DON’T WANTCHU! Pick your dignity up off the floor, leave your key on the table and GO! He told the Gladiators “She doesn’t talk to me like she talks to you.” Sir, what does that tell you??? The woman you wanna marry would rather talk to her employees than talk to you. Go home, Roger!

I’m just really not understanding why Quinn is still asking questions. What does it matter??? It seems clear to me that her life’s path was either gonna be Lindsey, mass murder, in jail for life or executed, or Quinn, Gladiator in a suit. No brainer, in my opinion. Sit down, shut up, and do what Ms. Pope tells you.

Fitz done lost his mind. And it’s adorable. I almost died. Screw y’all. Where my boo at?

Finally, Harrison is the love of my life. Thanks.

  35. Q
    February 1, 2013 at 6:43 pm

I KNEW Hollis wasn’t involved….that was too obvious of a plot.

Since Verna knew that set-up phone was in Hollis’ drawer, I believe she was involved with the shooting.

Mellie and Verna set this entire thing up. The plan from the beginning was to shoot Fitz (not to kill) for the sole purpose to set Hollis up. What other reason would someone even keep the burner phone around. Mellie or Verna had an intimate relationship with Hollis and had advanced knowledge of Becky and the Cytron explosion plan….And had access to his office. Now that Verna is dead, Mellie will be only one on the hook. Olivia is going to figure this out, and its gonna become a pissing contest between her and Mellie…because Liv surely cannot rat out Mellie without Mellie ratting her out. They will be playing Russian Roulet with each other.

    • Q

My bet is that Mellie is the one who had the relationship….which will leave open the possibility that he is Mellie’s baby daddy.

Luvvie…hear me out on this one. I am just not feeling Fitzy, y’all. I am beginning to feel Senator Brownie. Here’s why…Fitzy seems to ask a lot of my girl. Asking her to wait?? Seriously, for what–his kid to be born?? I just wasn’t feelin him. Is it just me? Now, Mellie. We know she’s a straight psychopath. But her making Fitzy?? I dunno. Maybe she did. But remember season 1, he was hot a mess before the Fixer stepped in. My girl is a bad bish, but she’s given up everything for him and hes’s given up nada. Senator Brownie is her way of holding onto something for herself.

Ditto on wondering if this is an elephant baby. And how has she not grown in months? I got pregnant after her, have longer to go, and am way huger than her. But I’m hoping Shonda will mail me that maternity wardrobe since she’s about to be done with it.

Hollis is getting a little cartoonish. What’s next, he ties Quinn to the train tracks? (well, actually……)

  40. ASNYC (Goon By Blood)
    February 3, 2013 at 1:05 pm

I’m here for Mellie and her antics. Fitz was governor of California before he was president and you know his feckless and aimless ass didn’t get there without Mellie tying his shoes and combing his hair. I have to respect her hustle. I love Liv, but if I molded a mediocre man and pushed him into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, I ain’t letting nobody or nothing take MY spot. She got pregnant late in life to cover up for Olivia’s and Fitz’s campaign trail indiscretions and his cheating with that Amanda chick. She’s literally sacrificed her body for another kid she probably didn’t want to save his bacon. She made that 18 year commitment and she wants a return on her investment. Mellie may have set him up to get shot because she is about that life. On the other hand, she loves power too much to be shunted out of the White House which is basically what would have happened had he died. Mellie wants the Hillary Clinton turn around: from the White House to the Senate without missing a beat.

And Fitz is experiencing those changes the doctor warned him about. Clearly Cyrus has to up his game from plain wig snatching to going for Fitz’s edges too, possibly even his cranial surgical scars. Fitz is getting off track. In fact, let me speak to Fitz…*grabs mic* Look Fitz, I know you survived getting shot, but guess what? Tens of thousands of Americans get shot every year and they live too; you didn’t do anything special, boo. And no, you are not in a gang where you can go out on the corner and flex to show us how you’re about that “not giving a fuck life.” You’re president, now act like it. Also, kill Cyrus’ man. Here’s your edges back.

I wish someone would put a bomb in that hairhat David Rosen has perched atop his head. If his fake hairline gets any lower it’s gonna be a mustache. He’s gonna stop getting uppity with Liv, especially since she saved his ass from the Hollis Express Train to a watery grave. He needs to keep it cute or put it on mute lest they find him and his toupee floating in a lake.

    Oh, deuces Hollis!

oh and this ep raised another mystery for me. when did quinn become such an awful dresser? she at least was trying to have a little style in the cytron days, big sweaters, some hoop earrings. Now she wears the same black skirt and too tight across the bust banana republic button down every day.

  42. Nikki Bee (@nikkib1920)
    February 4, 2013 at 8:15 am

The outfits show how together the person is within the team. Quinn is part of the team but not PART of it, does that make sense? She don’t quite curl all the way over. Yet.

What I am here for? HARRISON’S SUITS!! Honey!! He WORKS those suits.

And I tried to tell people that Charlie was coming back, but no one wanted to listen to me.

Liv crawled in bed like her life was over. I am SO here for Huck just laying in the bed like he belonged there. That’s what your BFF does.

I’m not here for Edison because he’s just LAME. I don’t LIKE him at all, mostly for last weeks first five minutes. AND HOW THE HELL DOES HE KEEP COMING IN!?!?

Fitz #fahn, ya’ll. I LOVE to watch him on screen.

And I was also here for the slander for Star Jones, she tried so hard to be relevant . . and no one cared at all. Josh Molina was NOT here for her at all and I loved it!!

David Rosen, speaking of Josh, STILL has this thing out for Liv. Let it go, dude, you will not catch her.

I might have to invest in DVR because I always miss something in the episode. Matter of fact, let me go watch it now. lol
