My Life

Introducing My Latest Site: Awesomely Techie!

I love technology and I’m a not-so-secret geek when it comes to all things digital. When I’m not keeping track of the foolery happening in pop culture, I’m teaching people how to use technology to make their lives easier or further their goals. It’s definitely one of my passions and something I’m pretty good at (check out my Luvvie.org page for my more people).

PLUS I used to design WordPress websites (up until October 2013, actually. In fact, I did this site). I’m both a social and technical strategist with know-how across the board on communications so I DOES THIS, man.

Ennehweighs, for the longest, I’ve wanted to have a website that is just dedicated to my geekery and it’s been on my spirit for over almost two years to do. Other things kept getting in the way, though. Finally, I had to stop making excuses and just do it (No Nike) because it wouldn’t leave me alone. This is why today, I’m SUPER EXCITED to launch Awesomely Techie!

Awesomely Techie

Awesomely Techie is a site that will be keeping you in check TECH with social media tips, blogging resources, gadget reviews and all things awesomely digital. My goal with this website is to bring information to everyone (techies AND non-techies, bloggers, smartphone users) that’ll help make your work life or personal life a bit less cumbersome. I’ll be talmbout everything from my favorite apps to how you can grow your site traffic to websites that offer free stuff to entrepreneurs.

Think of Awesomely Techie like a regular conversation with me (and other people I trust) about things pertaining to the internets, social media, gadgets and business. It’ll cover what I’m loving, not liking and what I shake my fists at.

There’s already 7 posts up on the site so you can go see for yourself.

* The Power of Tech: Skype’s Impossible Family Portrait
* 5 Plugins Every WordPress Site Should Have
* Got the SONY NEX-3N: My Review
* How To Backup Your WordPress or Blogger Site
* If the Social Networks Were in High School

Now, lemme take some of your questions.

* Will this new site affect Awesomely Luvvie?

Not at all. That content is separate from this. You come here to laugh. You go there to learn (and you might still chuckle). And to start, I will be updating it like once a week. A main difference between these 2 sites is that there will be regular contributors on Awesomely Techie. I’m Editor-in-Chief/Chief Geek in Charge but I won’t be the only voice on there. I’ve already got one contributor and he’s Chuck Olu-Alabi (aka ChuckStr), one of my favorite photographers. He’ll be writing about photography techniques, lenses and whatever pertaining to that craft.

* Will I be able to write for Awesomely Techie?

Yes. Eventually but not right now. I’m still handpicking my contributors. Soon, I might allow anyone to submit content to it and have it posted once it’s been reviewed and ensured to be up to the standards I’m looking for.

* Are you gonna be reviewing stuff allatahm?

Nah. The point of this site is not to fill your newsfeeds with reviews. Reviews will be there but they won’t be the majority of the content. And IF I (or any of the contributors) decide to review something, we’ll ALWAYS say whether it was given to us (or if it’s a sponsored post). AND we will be honest about our thoughts. If I say I like something, it’s not because I’m being compensated for it. I’d rather not even talk about a product than lie to y’all. That’s my promise.

So yeah. WHOOOOTTT! I hope you visit and getchu a piece of AwesomelyTechie.com and subscribe!

Kudos. Hopefully you can stop the “techie and the ratchet” disrespect to all tech field black women now.
