Lupita Nyong’O’s Lancome Ad Won’t Kill Me Die! LOVE!

Somebody gotta tell Lupita Nyong’o that I don’t have time for her perpetual slayage because how am I supposed to get work done and feel good about myself when she’s walking around looking like perfection? I DON’T HAVE THE TAHM NOR THE ENERGY, LAWD!

Just look at Lupie’s first ad as an ambassador for Lancome and get into it!

Lupita Lancome Ad

Glory.

Girl shut up and get off my damb screen with all this FAHN! SHARRAP!

I love this. LOVE! Talk about celebrating the chocolate. The face looking so right and the skin looking like God was all “girl, I whipped up this brown mousse. Testing out a new formula that the other ones ain’t got yet.” I ain’t gon act like I’m not jealous when I am, and I got decent ass skin too.

As unofficial Parliamentarian of the Lupistas/Lupitians/Lupettes (I bring the snacks to our monthly meetings), I crown this a WIN. I’m here for this ad. There’s none of the usual lightening of the skin. In fact, Lancome went and hired some folks who actually know how to light brown skin without that weird gray tint, unlike some of these other (lazy) brands. Shade. Yall clap for them. This looks and feels right.

She is also giving my Grace Jones vibes in this pic and you know Queen Grace is the Oracle of Fierce.

This is the type of stuff that has my impressionable self saying TAKE ALL MY MONEY, LANCOME! Look at this expansion of shades. LOOK AT IT!

Take my Money gif

You support my baby boo, Lupie, and I wanna support you. You know I’m sheep.

I like this ad way better than the VOGUE cover she just did. Yes she was giving me clavicle realness and bicep fever but I don’t think it was the dopest I’ve seen her (see: the lighting. Meh). But this ad? Gorgeous. Just gorgeous.

Lupita won’t kill me die. I love her. She is a Goddess. I will not be slayed by Lady Nyong’o everytime when I clearly will! LOVE!

So much LOVE for lady Lupita! Lemme log off before I get emotional at the celebration of chocolate skin.

“clavicle realness and bicep fever” . . . Just realized why I feel so motivated to do push-ups and can’t stop wearing sleeveless tops lately. Lupitaaaaaaa!

I don’t even wear makeup, but I have this sudden urge to buy out Target’s entire Lancome supply.

I’ve never purchased Lancome but I see some of their products coming to my bathroom counter very soon. Not just because of Lupita (although that’s a good reason alone) but because they have the cornucopia of shades we need. We all know one shade “does not fit all.”

To Lancome and the fiercest Lupita, cheers!

I might have actually swooned when I saw this on her Instagram. I got teary. I don’t know why Lupita always has me crine over her. Dambit! But she so purty doe! I love everything about this photo. She’s giving me vintage glam and Grace Jones fierce, with a little of Iman’s allure thrown in just because she can. Look at her eyes! So sultry. I feel like I wanna buy not only my own shade but the one she’s wearing even just to support.

Now about that Vogue… I love it! Never bought an issue of Vogue in all my years, but today’s payday and I’m copping that. I love that she doesn’t look Photoshopped to death on the cover, plus the editorial pics are HAWT! That one where she’s giving us Ailey dancer realness in the brown dress in that GORGEOUS room. The one with the cobra (I wonder if she’s really that awesome to pose with a live snake or they Shopped it in?) I am HERE FOR IT, #Slaypita!

While I love the ad…I truly do…LOVE IT…the question is will most U.S. stores stock the darker shades…I am a mid to darker skin women and while Lancome and a few other high end brands have supported the darker hues, finding them at your local Macy, Lord & Taylor’s, Nostrums that are usually located in the suburbs is difficult…there is a big gap in the ad verses what and where you can find these things on the store shelves here…the good ole U.S. is still suck on the light, bright and dam near white idea of beauty for everybody! So I hope the ad helps, and the shelves reflect the idea that real beauty and buying dollars come in all hues!!!!

I have been wearing Lancome for years, and I am a chocolate sista. I have always enjoyed how they have sooo many shades for women of color to select from (the mascaras are AWESOME). Their products are pricey, but always on point! I did stray for while…trying to save some coins. But Lupita got me going back! #gonegirl

“Queen Grace is the Oracle of Fierce” <– thank you for this because sometimes I feel like Lupita's perfection be paying #Amish to Mother G. Jones all the time and we.O.E.N.O.
This ad will be going on my wall.
Did I ever tell y'all about that deodorant ad I put on my wall AT MY WORK DESK because the model was not only Black, and kinda dark-skinneded, but she also had Itsy Bitsy Teeny Tinies on top and a full round bottom? And she was standing to the side, not even trying to disguise her figure. I was so dang appreciative to see a woman with my (at the time) shape being presented as a beautiful model.
    Crazy tangent, I know. Sorry.
    Representation matters and all that.

If I get me some Lancome in that shade (even tho I’m a bit lighter)can I be fierce too! Can I put some flawlessness on my bathroom counter and slather myself in it on a daily in hopes of becoming half as amazing as Lupita’s pinky toe? Just askin’.
