About the Election from Hell and Why I Voted for Hillary Clinton

I voted 2 weeks ago, when early voting started in Chicago. I was in and out in 30 minutes, and I cast my vote for Hillary Clinton to be President, with Tim Kaine as her Vice-President. One thing down, so many more to go.

luvvie-i-voted

I am exhausted, because this election season was conducted by Satan. Never in the history of ever have I wanted to skip ahead in time as I have in this particular presidential campaign. From the beginning, it has been more divisive than any I can recall, and everyone has been in our collective feelings.

From the passionate Bernie Bros to the Hillary Heads. The Democrats acted a fool amongst each other, because everyone seemed really heart tied to their candidates. And then when Bernie lost, folks threw massive tantrums and you would have thought someone stabbed Jesus in the heart. Some moved past it.

And for Hillary, who might have thought she had it all in the bag. Well, this election rightfully checked her and let her know that she ain’t just gonna moonwalk into the Oval Office. Her campaign misstepped more than a few times and she learned that Clinton privilege isn’t always a smooth ride to the top.

But NOTHING. Not a damb thing. Not an ounce of a gram of a thing, can compare to the fuckery that has been Donald Trump, his campaign and the fact that he is literally Hilter’s mentee. He has made this an election from hell. He’s threatened to build a wall to keep Mexicans out and ban Muslims from entering the U.S. He’s made fun of someone with a disability and called a soldier who died at war into question for his patriotism. He has been the boil on all our collective asses, and turned politics into a bottom barrel reality TV show. He’s become BFFs with Vladimir Putin and challenged the Russians to hack into United States government property. The KKK has endorsed this troll.

Hillary’s blank stare, doe. LMAO!

I could go on and on. And then the clusterfuck that is this election got even worse when the FBI stepped in to be Miss Pearl that nobody asked for. The gahtdamb FBI and their fuckboy director James Comey decided to bring up Hillary’s emails, throwing up a flare that did damage and are then saying “Oh nevermind.” Completely irresponsible and reckless. Because this is the shit we’re living in. Where organizations within the Department of Justice can go rogue and try to influence a presidential election.

And now, the day before the election, folks are saying it is closer than ever. Just THREE weeks ago, HRC’s opponent was caught saying how he wanted to sexually assault a woman AND THE RACE IS CLOSE. What the entire whole ass hell??

what the fuck cat gif

WTF America??

This is America. A country where a racist, xenophobic, homophobic, hate-mongering reality TV star can go up against the most qualified person to ever run for office and it is close. A country where a man who is on camera saying how he wants to sexually assault women can still prosper. A country where a hapless, idiot of a man can share a stage with a woman who has spent 30 years in public service, competing for the same job.

So this election cycle feels different from any other. There really AREN’T 2 choices. There is one.

I voted for Hillary because she is the most qualified person to ever run for President of the United States. And to be honest, any man with her qualifications would water slide into the position she is currently fighting tooth and nails for.  I voted for her because she is committed to seeing women retain their basic rights, as people with agency over their bodies. I voted for her because I’m confident that she will not start World War 3. I voted for her because I’ve seen her move more left, which means she can be influenced to change policy and stances that we do not like. And we can certainly work to push her way more left, and to take on more work that will benefit people of color. That is important. I voted for her because she won’t pick Supreme Court justices who will dropkick us back into 1856.

dont-boo-vote gif

I voted for Hillary, not because I think she’s faultless. She has MANY faults and there are a lot of critiques of hers that are valid. I am not saying #ImWithHer because she’s saving us all. Nope. I voted for her because she is the best option we have for President, and I think she does have compassion for human beings. She has grace under fire, and how she hasn’t managed to flip everyone and their obsession with her emails (which they still can’t find shit to charge her on) for is beyond me. She is presidential.

I voted for Hillary. I want her do this work. And if you are holding your nose and don’t mess with her, fine. But vote, to prevent the other choice from happening, and then let her earn your vote in the next 4 years. Because you know she wants 8 years in that White House so let’s spend the next 4 holding her feet to the fire and making sure she doesn’t drop all those promises she’s made. And that her actions reflect the mistakes she’s admitted to making. And I am excited to see our first woman president.

hillary-clinton

I voted for Hillary Clinton. If you’re on the fence, I’m really hoping you do too. We can also give her a list of shit she gotta do for us on January 20. But to sit this vote out, or to not vote for her. That increases likelihood of the first Cheeto president and I am petrified at the thought. PETRIFIED. In a way where I just want to go to sleep and skip the anxiety that’ll come on November 8. In fact, I’ve booked a massage for myself so I can at least be away from the hysteria for 90 minutes.

We are past that “lesser of 2 evils” thing because at this point, one person is Voldemort, and the other is HRC (who might be Dolores Umbridge but not Voldie). And 3rd party voting? Well, this simply ain’t the time. Neither Jill Stein nor Gary Johnson will be winning this election. This is fact. It’s not pissing on your hopes and dreams. According to THE MATHS, they have ZERO chance of winning. You might as well just write in “Beyoncé” because she has about the same chance to be president as either one of them. And well, I could be here for President Knowles-Carter. On November 9, we can get to talking about viable 3rd parties then, and how to make that a real thing. But there is a lot at stake here. For now… nah.

White folks! I’m looking at you right now, especially. Black folks can’t play Captain Save-an-Election. Those of you who KNOW that Trump is dangerous and shouldn’t be president. Your knowledge of that fact is not enough. We surely don’t want his ass to be president. Can you make sure everyone YOU know gets to the polls? Have you been quiet about the fact that this man is Hitler 2.0? Are you tolerating the words he says to flourish in your families and your timelines? Are YOUUUU actively working against this demagoguery? If you’re in a swing state, are you making sure your vote is counting against him?? Right.

Because this can’t fall on people of color to prevent. Trump is your monkey and this is your circus. Whatchu gon do tomorrow? WHATCHU GON DO?

You better not sit out this vote! 88% of Congress is up for re-election. There’s much more that we need to have our say on.

election-day-michelle-obama

#ImWithHer, gahtdambit! Now, if she ain’t with us yet, then she won’t win her seat back in 2020. And those of you who love Jill Stein can work on getting her invited to debates so she won’t have to be on Facebook Live during them. But first, let’s handle business on Tuesday and make history again.

But here’s the thing we need to understand. Pandora’s Box has been open. We are in the doorway of hell, and the beast with no neck (Trump) has started something that won’t end on November 8 at 11:59pm. He has created a resurgence of hate in this country. It is so strong that there’s rumblings of mass hysteria, created by crybaby ass demagogues who are feeling the desperation of losing control. That’s what we have been dealing with these last 6 months, especially. And they won’t go quietly into the night tomorrow.

Whew. Pray for us.

P.S. No, I’m not wearing a pantsuit tomorrow. Also, stop adding me to that Facebook group.

I’m with you and #I’mWithHer, Luvvie. Here’s one white person that is VERY vocal about keeping that Butternut Nighmare out of the oval office.

Omg, don’t do delicious butternut squash like that. That yummy little gourd never did anything to anybody! LOL.

    Luvvie,

I’m commenting just to let you know that I appreciate your words and position. If this country elects that sorry-ass, racist, xenophobic, misogynistic, no-nothing, unprepared, bully Donald Trump, I’m moving myself right across the river (literally) to Canada. But, I’m believing for the best. I’m believing that we are better than that. #ImWithHer too. Hillary is the ONLY choice in this interminable, horrible, tortuous election. Tomorrow, November 8, 2016, we elect the first woman President! I’m glad I lived to see this day.

  4. November 7, 2016 at 8:09 pm

Amen, Luvvie. I’m with you. And though I’m in the pantsuit group to feel better about the horrible Cheeto existing, I won’t be wearing one, either. 😉

And to those STILL concerned about the emails, for GAWDSSAKE, STAHP.

This. Cheetos can’t even make it through 10 minutes of a debate without his nose delivering the State of Cocaine, and she’s not punched him in the face ONCE.

    Presidential.

Republicans knew that Trump wasn’t competent, fit, or qualified to be POTUS but because he managed to build a huge coalition of rabid, “foaming-at-the-mouth” Hillary-hating, bigoted followers, they saw an opportunity for a super majority. They created this grossly unattractive, ill-tempered, immoral, whining fifth-grader and set him loose upon the American electorate. Unfortunately, old Trumpenstein’s ego was so massive that NO ONE could reason with him, not even his handlers. Now this lab experiment gone bad is eating the GOP from the inside out and it is one soda-slurping, popcorn-munching entertaining show!

This white woman will be voting first thing tomorrow morning. I’m with you and her.. My polling place is at my Church, so I will stop in to say a prayer and light a candle. My husband will have been there first and he is with her also.

I’ve been a Hillary supporter from early on but Trump just keeps making it more obvious. I love how you call him “Cheeto”!! Ha ha You are an excellent writer. Thanks for sharing this.

My hubby, the Republican in our marriage, even voted for Hillary. His reason? He can respect her. Not so for Mr. Cheeto!

  12. November 7, 2016 at 9:54 pm

Girl. All of this. ALL OF THIS. Clinton ain’t my most favoritest ever, but she has earned my vote nonetheless.

A “racist, xenophobic, homophobic, hate-mongering reality TV star” might become our next president but I’m college educated and have never even stolen a hubba bubba and I can’t find a job. I’m pretty sure if he wins I’ll have one really quick, picking cotton. That man will set civil rights so far back it isn’t even funny. *le sigh* Here’s to hoping we’re not all in a wall building labor camp by Memorial Day.

Make no mistake, #ImWithHer. Am I Hillary’s biggest fan? No. But if the choice is between “ehh” and Tangerine Hitler…well, let’s just say I voted early to make sure I had the chance to tell Tangerine Hitler to go fuck himself.

I’m slinging the blood of the lamb around me today. #Imwithher because I can’t co-sign foolery. That’s what Trump embodies. Foolery. This election has truly been one of those bad episodes of punked or a bad accident you couldn’t turn from. Talk about putting a sour taste in your mouth.

Voted early this morning in NJ, talked to a white female educator after we both voted and she was very vocal about voting for Hillary… I was a Bernie supporter but knew I’d be with her over that orangutan any day! She stressed to me to make sure my friends and family vote today and I told her if they don’t we’re no longer friends or family, this is too important to sit out cuz you’re butt hurt at the choices! #imwithher #butmisspearltho ????

Luvvie, I co-sign with all of this. I voted two weeks ago and walked my sons and husband to the polls at the same time. Hillary is going to have to earn my vote over the next 4 years too. I’m not a fan of hers, but I would rather see her in the Oval office than the devil’s cousin with the off-yellow face.

Honest to gawd. I had a nightmare last night that orange monkeys were invading the country and carrying a deadly outbreak. There was no place to hide from them and no one to call. We were fucked.

Woo! My pressure has been up for the longest over this ridiculous campaign.

I voted first thing. Got up early, dressed well went up there to the poll w my husband and sons in all our brown glory to our lily white poll center. Cast our votes and then went for waffles.
While I was bubbling in my paper ballot (it’s been electronic before…what’s up w old school paper allasudden?) the lady who checked me in, LOUDLY asked the other checker “HOW MANY DEMOCRATS HAVE VOTED SO FAR?”
Whuu??? Surely that’s not allowed. If anything it’s in poor taste. Ole girl couldn’t whisper???
    Dang.

This was the worst election I can ever remember. Bernie was cheated out of a fair chance by the DNC because the democrats were so sure Hillary would be the most likely candidate to win the White House. It backfired. I really believe Bernie could have beaten Trump. I voted for Hillary because she is qualified, even though I believe she has done some shady things and she lies. I think most politicians lie and it is to be expected. The question is what issues are they willing to lie about. Trump is willing to lie about anything and everything. I don’t believe anyone in the history of politics in the U.S. is as awful as Trump. He is not only a racist, sexual predator, liar, fascist, and egomaniac, but he appears to be truly evil. I fear for what will happen in this country with him as president and those he has chosen for leadership roles. For those poor whites, racists and other misguided folks who elected him, they will pay a heavy price for their decision. Just wait until the republicans cut food stamps, privatize medicare & social security and cut Planned Parenthood. For the poor class white men and women who were so pro-Trump, let’s see how they feel when they can’t afford medical services and their social security checks are smaller or eliminated. Don’t they have sense enough to know that he is not going to bring back the coal mining industry or steel mills? Someone who manufactures his own products in foreign countries is not going to create jobs here. People have been fighting for a cleaner environment, not more pollution. But he wants to cut or limit the EPA. When we have more pipelines built that explode and we can no longer drink the water or grow anything, what happens then? They will be sorry for their decision to put this insane man into the most important job in the world. I hope there will be mass protests on his inaguration day. Let’s show him how much he is detested. I also hope President Obama refuses to assist him in any way. Let Trump and his mob work things out. Also, the celebrities and pundits that are saying we need to calm down and give him a chance, need to back the hell off. I’m speaking of one major celebrity in particular who has millions telling folks to take a breath and have hope. So no matter how he destroys things for the rest of us, she will be just fine. I feel like voting is pointless since we have the FBI and the Russians to rig things their way. The only thing Trump said that was truthful was that the election is rigged. Sorry for the rant, but I’m just fed up.
