I’m Headed to Morocco for a Week!

Hey folks! Tonight, I’m headed to Morocco and I am doing a jig about it. I decided to just go because why not?? YOLO and all that jazz. You know I love to travel and it’s always been on my list!

This is a play trip and I will be exploring Marrakech, Fez and Chefchaouen (aka the Blue City). On the way, I’ll also be stopping in Madrid, Spain. Coming back, London.

Going to Morocco, which is in North Africa will mean I will have made it to all the quadrants of Africa! I’ve been to Nigeria (West) Equatorial Guinea (Central but kinda West too), South Africa (South), Kenya (East).

Morocco is the one in yellow and Spain is the country right above it saying “I’m not touching you.”

So I’ll be gone until next Friday, June 12. I don’t know if I’ll be blogging while there (probably not). If I do, YAYYYY! Surprise! But this is a vacation, so I’m trying to do very little work.

HOWEVER, I have to watch Game of Thrones! I will be using HBOGo to tune in. Not sure if I’ll have time to write a recap til I get back though. Basically, lower your expectations.

As always, I love to bring y’all with me. For those of you on social media, follow me on Instagram (@Luvvie) because I’ll be posting pics of my adventures there. Everyone who has been to Morocco said it’s beautiful so there’s gonna be lots of goodness to share. You can also join my Awesomely Luvvie Facebook fan page. Some of the pics will end up there too.

P.S. I am very proud of myself because all I’m taking is my backpack and my wheelie carryon. I’m a recovering packrat so this is a major accomplishment!

Awesome!!! We LOVED Morocco. The smell in spice market is glorious. You should watch the episode of ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ when they visited Morocco. Have a great time & rest up so you’ll have enough energy to write your book *wink wink*.

You will have a blast. I went to Marrakech and Fes about 8 years ago and it was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken. While you’re in Marrakech be sure to hit up Jema el-Fenaa at night at least once because it becomes one big outdoor cafe with dozens of food vendors setting up shop. I’m talking full blown 4 course meal for less than $5. The shopping is great too, just watch for the vendors here and there that can be a bit overzealous.

But I’ma shut up because you probably have your whole itinerary mapped out already. Enjoy yourself.

+1 for the Jema el-Fenaa at night! Oh and freshly squeezed orange juice during the day. And chocolate croissants. and Mint Tea.

      Now I’m hungry.

I’m kinda jealous you’ll be hitting all four quadrants of Africa. So far, I’ve been to South Africa. It was incredible, but I still want to go to Kenya, Egypt, and Nigeria. But I have this larger goal of visiting all the major continents first. Have an amazing time, and I look forward to your post and pictures when you return.

Do plan to visit Tanzania (East Africa), Sela. Home of: Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and other great safari parks, Mt. Kilimanjaro, Zanzibar and other glorious islands, white sand beaches, beautiful coral reefs, warm and beautiful people, amazing food, coffee and tea and so much more! 🙂

I’m looking forward to hear about your trip! I studied abroad in Spain, so I’ve flown in & out of Madrid and went to Chefchaouen during my weekend in northern Morocco. ¡Bon voyage!
