Like my episode with Rich Dennis, I’m skipping the typical feel goods, rants, and spotlight and going straight to the interview, because today I’m talking with Thasunda Brown Duckett. She’s CEO of Chase Consumer Banking. Black woman, just dope all around. Mother of four, proud wife, proud daughter, and just overall noir pixie dust carrier.

Thasunda Brown Duckett is the chief executive officer of Chase Consumer Banking. She is a member of the Consumer and Community Banking Leadership Committee. Chase is one of the largest US providers of banking, lending, treasury, wealth management, and Thasunda oversees a banking network with more than $684 billion in deposits and investments, 5,300 branches, 18,000 ATMs, and more than 47,000 employees, including 3,000 financial advisors. Yo, she has been named Top 100 Leading Female Executive by Automotive News. One of the most powerful women in banking by American Banker magazine, one of the 50 most powerful women in corporate America by Black Enterprise magazine and among the top most influential blacks in corporate America by Savoy.

In this episode, Thasunda joined me to talk about her upbringing, how she became the woman who cared so much about talking about money, especially when it comes to black women. She tells me about diversifying your life as a portfolio, which was a conversation that changed my life. And she really wants people to show up as exactly who they are.

You can follow Thasunda on Instagram at @Thasunda. As always, much love to the Chicago Recording Company, where I record each episode!
